Paul Grupp + Brenda Rose
Welcome to our photographic world!
We know you have many choices for photographers. We think what differentiates our work is our unique combination of conceptual storytelling, journalistic instincts, and fashionable art. Our experience handling hundreds of assignments over nearly a decade gives us the ability to approach each new challenge with sensitivity and creativity. Whether you are new to modeling or have years of experience, you will appreciate the respectful approach we take to each of our photographic subjects.
We are based in the Pearl District, with studio space at 420 SW Washington Street, and are available for photographic assignments in Portland and throughout the Pacific northwest.
Paul has shot dozens of assignments for newspapers, and spent two and half years as staff photographer for the NY State Senate in Albany NY. His work has appeared on the websites and in the catalogs of many companies and organizations, and in a diverse set of publications ranging from 944 Fashion magazine to Landscape Architecture, to The Saratogian, The Troy Record, and The San Diego Troubadour newspapers. His photographs were featured in the book Erotique Digitale published by the Ilex press. He shot most of the images for the 2011 and 2012 Under Armour Lacrosse equipment catalog. Many musicians use Paul’s photography on their websites, posters, promo pix and CD packaging.
As of August 2015, Paul is based in Portland, OR. Weddings, headshots, fashion, glamour and portraiture are Paul’s primary work, and he couldn’t be happier! Increasingly, senior execs from the corporate world as well as leaders in the finance, health care, and real estate world are coming to Paul for their professional headshots. Paul’s newest challenge is integrating video and cinematography into his art.

Brenda fell in love with photography while working on her high school yearbook team. Fascinated with documenting the human condition, she followed her passion as a hobby until meeting life and business partner Paul Grupp in 2005. After a few years of shooting weddings and studio work part time, she left her Nursing career of 25 years to become a full time pro.
Brenda has a unique eye for conceptual photography. Her work has appeared in Her Life Magazine, the Times Union and the Daily Gazette, and appears on the websites and in promotional materials for countless corporations, entertainers, musicians, authors, and business professionals.
Brenda and Paul ran the successful Upstate Photographers/518 Pinups studio in Troy, NY for many years, focusing on professional headshots, boudoir, and promo pics for entertainers before moving to Portland. After August 5, 2015 Brenda is available anywhere in the Pacific Northwest.
A recent personal project was a 2014 calendar featuring local Drag Queens, called “Mother’s Little Helper” which takes a humorous look a motherhood and is reflective of Brenda’s experiences as a mother of three grown children. All profits from the project were donated to the Capital Region Pride Center of Albany, NY.
